Mainly because I'm a watch wanderer, and enjoy dabbling far and wide. So I wanted to retain just one watch bearing the coronet, and it came down to this 1977 Datejust or a 2018 GMT-Master II. After six months of deliberation, I opted to keep this pretty little Buckley.
Thank you. The choice was also influenced by a general lack of interest in steel sports watches. The DJ is what I regard as a 'boring classic.' The Buckley iteration adds a nice level of quirkiness
I’m very much a fan. I made a comment about disliking Roman numerals on another post but the watch I posted there and pretty any Buckley are the exceptions to that.
Thank you. I've observed phases. First it was all about neutral indices. Then on to Romans. Now I find myself picking up Arabics. It's not so much a change of taste as keeping an eye on the collection as a whole and aiming for stylistic variation
Thank you. The GMT-Master is a fine watch (modern and vintage). In this instance, I was happy to retain just one SS watch, which is a Parmigiani Fleurier that interests me a little more for its flourishes
I'll let you in on a little secret: it wasn't difficult. I knew someone would enjoy the GMT-Master II, so I shuffled it along quickly under the going price :)
