Unexpected surprise…Rolex Datejust 36 with the new dial
Hello all,
It has been a while since my last post. I was enjoying my collection and the usual itch seemed to have faded away now that it is almost impossible to buy whatever with a crown on the dial. I visited a Wempe in Munich a couple of weeks ago when travelling with my family for a holiday in Austria, and guess what? They had nothing, niks, nada, noppes from Rolex. The store manager also told me that if they would have had a Rolex watch he would not have sold it to me because he has so many people from Munich on a waiting list. So today I stopped by a shop in Amsterdam. They only had ladies Rolexes with diamonds in the displays. I said I was interested in a 36 mm Datejust and that I was surprised they had none. The sales lady asked me to wait a little, left and came back with this one…the one with the new slate dial. And right there and then I decided I would buy it because it is something different: steel and gold, a smaller size and the dial is really different to what I am used to. Now I am going to enjoy the hell out of it😉
Congrats, a very neat new Rolex with a really attractive dial! Honestly, I'm glad at least a 36mm, two-tone is available (after a few tries!), or else we would have really reached a point of no return! ;-))
Cheers from my own Rolex TT (I believe it's a slightly larger size), which I have *fully* enjoyed since probably 2006 in all kinds of activities, including sports (the only exception being soccer but only because I'm the goalkeeper!
