Rolex Daytona Paul Newman 6239.

A watch I saw a couple of months ago, in Paris.

The " Djinn Shot ". smile))

I always had mixed feelings about the Pail Newman. Cool to see, but on my wrist, not that thrilling, strangely.

And you always have a fear that it is not totally original, unless if the provenance is crystal clear.

Best,

Nicolas

That's the watch photograph to start the year!

This is a real one! Unlike the 90% fakes out there

I agree though
On the wrist I don’t see the hype on this, its more a status symbol a vintage equivalent of Richard Mille

Well said!

On your pics it looks super cool Nico. But as always it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t sing on the wrist. Enjoy!

That's it.

Years ago I tried on the PN

It's a photogenic watch, Actually, it doesn't matter if its PN or just 6265/3.
The case is high, like the Tudors of today, but "acceptable" cause it's a PN...

That real or not thing, is true. like the DRSD, there are more reds then white 1665,,,

The watch just doesn't sing, not even close to the joy when wearing a well patinated 5513 or 1655.
It's the hype knocking in our heads, and I guess without it, it won't get a 2nd look.

Once again, my friend, we think alike.

Photogenic for sure. Highly photogenic, even. I much prefer a good old 1675, 6542, 1655 or Tudor 7924, too.

A dream this one; perhaps too small for my wrist but what a watch

Stunning photos as always, and what a Daytona!

For me provenance is everything particularly with timepieces such as this (but I would also argue even from those in the more affordable luxury ranges too - mid 4 figures and lower 5 figures).

Luckily, my favorite Daytona is the 16520. ;)
