Ever since I was a young man.
I always wanted a blue dial submariner. I loved the bi metal submariner at first but then as the years went on I found myself drawn to the solid gold transitional model 16808 with its vintage style Nipple dial.
Ever since those days I have been a sucker for a nice blue dial. I apologise for the Patek which sneaks into my blue dial lineup but make no apologies for the watch.
Rolex and Tudor blue dials just make me think of the summer and shorts and flip flops which help me through the dark grey UK winter months
I know a few here share my love of a blue dial.

Well, for me, here, I see two killers, the Daytona platinum and the 5970P.
The Daytona platinum, this is funny... I hated it when I saw the first official photos, then I totally changed my mind when I saw it in real...
As for the 5070P, well, it was love at first sight, but never could grab it when it was for sale.

That does happen with some my friend.
There are many watches which left me somewhat cold on launch but then after a little time to digest and handle they became must haves for me. I do think watches can be very different in the flash. I do have to say though that being a die hard daytona fan and having always fancied a DD with ice blue dial this 50th Anniversary Daytona was love at first sight for me. I just thought the use of platinum the ice blue dial and hazelnut brown was absolutely genius and works so very well. This is why I’m not a fan of the gem versions which don’t have the brown detail on. Completely changes the look for me. As you may know I am fairly shallow and have always let my eyes and heart make my decisions for me.
With regard to the 5070p my friend I truly wish you had managed to secure one of these as a more deserving owner than you I can’t imagine. You never know my friend things can happen.

Well, I was first on the list, at the retail ( 57 000 Euros ) for the 5070P, and still waiting for mine to come. :)))))))
I know what you mean.
For me there are not many submariners which mean as much as this one does. It symbolises so many things and stages in my life for me.

Well, it’s undeniable that you’re a blue dial aficionado. Hard to choose a favorite as far as I’m concerned, and yes I’m deeply offended, more like crashed for the Patek, since it’s beyond dreams;) Just beautiful!
