TUDOR presents a new addition to the Black Bay line that embodies the purest modern expression of the brand’s first-ever dive watch. In 1954 TUDOR’s first dive watch, the reference 7922 was released, and today the Black Bay 54 is the most true-to-form inspiration of this model with a 37mm case and a Manufacture Calibre
The BB 54 at 37mm represents the closest model to a vintage in terms of proportions. It is essentially a James Bond small crown, and looking at the crown design it definitely lends itself to the historical design from its big brother Rolex. Another nod to the history is the Lollipop seconds hand. Also note the pencil shaped minute hand. Finally the bracelet has a T fit rapid adjustment clasp.
and currently ranked third in my rankings of the latest new releases today! The De Bethune DB* chronograph remains the clear winner followed by the Chopard LUC in 36.5mm with a salmon dial. Consolation price for the Rolex Perpetual 1908 which to me beats Patek at its own game.
