Is anyone else a little annoyed that modern Rolexes seem to not have their minute hands reach all the way up to their minute tracks? All of my other watches/brands seem to have their minute hands reach up to their minute tracks, and even my vintage Day-Date has the minute hand reach the minute hash marks on the dial, but it seems the newer models don’t do that (see screenshot of new President model from their website below). To me, it seems the hands were an afterthought or brought in from a spare parts bin to make the watch if they don’t reach the minute hash marks on the dial. Ok, I’m ready for the bashing. LOL.

This might be the only model, but maybe just in the picture(I don’t own a Day-Date).
Think of all the metal they don’t have to use, and the cost savings!
Soon we will see shorter hands for everyone, times are tough.

I don't like it when watches do that either, just seems "off". A lot of APs dont reach minute track either IIRC
Yes, to me it reminds me of cheap fashion watches.
No attention to detail. Not that I still wouldn’t want a new DD, but that is one thing I don’t like about them that I wish they’d fix.
Possibly the hands they are using are on both 36mm and 40mm watches, the latter having a larger dial but with the same hands as the previous ones.

Does anyone have both a 36 and 40mm Day-Date or Datejust 41 that can measure the minute hand length? 😁
I have this one in 36mm rose gold, here at least I see its hands in an adequate size, but I don't have it in 40mm.

While not as noticeable, it looks like the minute hand still falls a little short of touching the hash marks so maybe they want it to look like that on purpose now for some reason. On my 36, the hand reaches all the way, as it does on my Speedy, for example, and yes, even for the Sky Dweller. So if done that way for the Sky Dweller which has the same case style, why not for the DD and DJ?
Your hands are from the previous ones and thinner but possibly not longer, you should consider the graphics on the dial which are more towards the center, the current hands are thicker but not longer, I have some hands here both thin from the old date day model and from the current ones, as soon as I open the safe I will show them to you but they give the impression of being longer, look I show you my OQ 17013, this one has the same hands as yours thin, but curiously all the QQs have the larger dial, if you try to put a Datejust dial on an Oyster Quartz it will never fit it will be too small
It looks better on your Datejust. The hand looks like it just about touches the minute marks.
If you look carefully at your dial you will see that the second hand lines are aligned with the diamonds, but there is a large space behind them, that is why your hands look longer, not because they are longer but because the second hand graphics are more towards the center, this effect is very noticeable in the Date 34mm, although the dial is the same as the Datejust 36mm, the second hand lines are more towards the center, meeting the tip of the minute hand., Look at your "t swiss t" logo as it covers all that empty space around the dial

That the hash marks on my dial are placed more inwards on the dial than the minute track on the newer model. The result is the same though- the minute hand on the newer model doesn’t reach to the hash marks. lol. To me, I would prefer that the minute hand reaches the hash marks.
Fortunately, in this case I have hands from both the old Date Day model and the new Date Day that I kept from some spare parts that the technical service returned to me for some watches I had. As soon as I get them out of the safe I will show them to you so we can clear up any doubts about whether some were longer than others or whether it is the design of the dial that changes.
It doesn't bother me as much as the trademark (yet eyesore) cyclops, which continues to be an abomination :)
Cyclops doesn’t bother me as much because that’s a feature of the Rolex that just makes it recognizable as a Rolex. 😁
