My dad passes away for almost 9 years. He left me his Rolex watches but only the watches...no boxes or papers left behind. As I'm very new to the world of rolex, I really need your expertise of identifying all these memorable pieces. Please kindly help me out...I really don't have any idea of what year they were produced or what references number there are....for example, I know 1680, 5512, 5513, etc....but not of these watches.
By the way, the watches are not in very nice condition as my dad used them as daily beater.....in the garage!.. and sorry for my bad photo skills...
1. Normal size, Black dial with date
2. Normal size, Blue dial with date
3. Normal size, Gold case and gold bracelet
4. Boy size with diamond
5. Normal size
Thanks in advance for your kindly help
Since I was born, my dad had never used other watches except the Crown - Rolex. He told me that Rolex is the King of Watch with great history and it was his dream of owning one.
I always enjoy wearing his watches no matter how old are them, they are more than just a watch for me.
Cheers
First of all, let me say that I'm glad to see that you never sold these watches...
Affective watches, form a beloved person, are the best watches in the world!
It's refreshing to read you, my man.
Your father was certainly a nice person, when I read his son.
As for the refrences of the Rolexes, the first thing we do, before buying a Rolex wathc, is to remove the bracelet ,
to see the reference and to check if the ref corresponds to the watch.
Jeff once again and as always is right.
Have a Great WE, my friend!

Nicolas,
I totally agree to what you said..."watches from beloved person are the best watches in the world". I will never...ever let them go off my wrist. I don't have kids yet, but if I have kids, these watches will be passed to them as the memorable of their grandfather.
I really love to wear these watches eventhough people always tell me that they are very very old. But trust me, they've got more value than those of my new watches.
By the way, thanks for your info about how to get the references.
Cheers.
