I bought this vintage Rolex most of a year ago..was wondering is anyone knew more about it...all I know is it's from the 60's.....and the dealer had an original Rolex magazine ad with this model pictured and it was referred to as "Tank"
Tank? I don't think so. And the dial looks redone! But is very beautiful.
Cheers, Lobo.
the dial was re-done...it looks old. And I saw the original 60s magazine ad that pictured about 8 different models, each with the name next to it. Next to this identical watch it said "TANK"....
Here is a close-up of the dial for the experts to have closer look...thanks!
Manual wind Rolex OysterDate Precision watch with a re-painted "bow-tie" dial, and in nicely restored condition.
The Tank watch is generally a non-Oyster, rectangular shaped manually wound watch, originally attributed to Cartier, and based on the shape of the First World War military vehicles...
Mike, I appreciate it. I also never heard the name Tank used with Rolex so im confused about this vintage ad. Im going to see if i can get a copy of it to post here...
