what beauties did I not had yet ? A Comex ? A milgauss 6541 ?
The problem when your adress book is full, is that sometimes watches come to you without you even have you search ;-)
But honestly, there will never be for me another watch with an emotional content as strong as the Paul Newman Daytona.
but if Paul Newman did not wear this watch, would we all like it so much? Should a celebrity connection bring such a premium for a watch? I know there is more to it than that, but I kinda like the "standard" vintage Daytonas.

The unititiated amongst us (OK - both of us!) could really benefit from a breakdown of the whole Daytona story - indeed, from the pre-Daytona Cosmograph to the current day. What are the stylistic differences between the various pieces? What movements were deployed? Which are the more highly regarded, and why?
Can you be persuaded to edify your compatriots? ;-)
Cheers,
pplater.
and the first part of the history of the Rolex Cosmograph will be online soon.
