g340 on shared his experience of removing his GMT-C watch at an airport security screening, only to find the ceramic bezel fell out. Fortunately, he found the insert, but could not press it back into the bezel ring (like one can with the older aluminum 16710 inserts).

He is going to send me the follow-up after his watch visits the New York RSC.

Has anyone else had this experience?

 g340 reported today that he dropped off his GMT-C with the New York RSC who indicated "they have seen situations like this before, but that it is uncommon."

The watch will be mailed back to him.  If there are "after" pictures, I will post them.

I dropped my GMTII C waist height and my bezel shattered. Rolex turn around time is not really that bad...my watch was gone for 4 weeks the 1st time and then it had to go back because it was losing 20 sec a day and Rolex had it for 3 weeks.

that ceramic bezel is not a good idea; as far a durability is concerned

both friends were very disappointed
