It seems that many people dislike this model. Is it because of its dial or other reasons? Recently, I was offerred a Platinum Daytona and Yachtmaster II (white gold) at very good price. I appreciate to have your advice.

The Plat Dayto never existed.
Well, it's all about aesthetics, on the YM II.
A very big and thick watch, iwth a very special dial.
Not a consensual watch, so, it will depend on everyone's taste.

Platinum daytona??
... maybe u mean White gold Daytona 
I don't think that Rolex ever made a Platinum daytona. Anyway, i owe both, and honestly, i love them both. Hard to choose between those two. Unless u have a big wrist, in this case don't hesitate, go for the Yachmaster. Loving mine, YG,... more and more.
Daytona is still an icon. Looks amazing and feels timeless
