After I found out last year that the black dial was not for me, I was hunting a white dial Newman...

So when a very nice example crossed my way... I could not resist very long ;-)

Remember my ex black dial version with stainless steel bezel...

And here's the newcomer: white dial and black bezel ! 

Is this one a keeper?

Both watches are stunning but I'm with you. The white dial version is simply gorgeous. Doesn't get any better than that one.

. . . while black dials are usually my preference, in this case, the white dial framed by black conveys a more defined presence.

Btw, I went looking for the new Explorer yesterday . . . not in stores yet, at least not in So Cal.

Great Piece!

I wanna own a PN Daytona one day

...and Nicolas caught some of its peculiarity in his post. The movement is nothing special. The case is not unusual. The dial of the PN is also not especially startling....so why is this watch so special.

To me, its like Star Wars. When the Jedi pick up a lightsaber, then all of a sudden something special happens. The PN is like a lightsaber. Once it is on the wrist, it feels utterly different to any watch that I own. Whether its white on black or black on white, this dial has something extremely powerful about it and also something which is almost impossible to describe. There are many watches that are more beautiful. Many watches that have better finish. Many watches with more refined movements. More complex watches exist in the 1000s. More expensive and prestigious. Some watches have something special. "The force" exists in many different watches for sure.

But in that PN, the force is very very strong.

The coolest watch in the world.
