This story will end in a bad way...

Each time I see a big crown Submariner, I have the same bad thoughts... I am more and more convinced that I need to get one.



While the 5508 plays another card, the discrete elegance, the 6538 is more on the " bad boy " register.

Thicker, the case has more presence, mainly once on the wrist.

And the big crown, bestial, brutal, makes the difference, as well as the domed plexy ( which is very problematic to take in picture, by the way ).

This one has a nice service dial.







Did you also notice that this Submariner still has its beveled lugs?

A superb example, indeed.

Thanks to its owner to let me play with it, and to suffer, too!

This is a very nice big crown, the more you look at it compared to the case the bigger it seems to get, a real bad boy indeed.

To take the right decision...

A Swiss Dial is almost unaffordable, a service dial has to be beautiful to get some interest.

This one may be the right compromise, unless I found something very exciting as an alternative...

Modern watches have their own charm, I will not be the one who will criticize them.

But these Vintage have something strong and very special I'd call Soul.

Not only Rolex watches, but all the watches, for sure.
