Rolex

Hi Guys, I've stopped wearing my GMT as the Jubilee strap pinches skin like mad! I decide to wear it again after almost a year in hibernation only for it to go back in its box after a day. Do you guys have any good strap ideas, possibly leather, that you could show that will not overpower a faded bezel, I tried it with a nato strap and it looked pretty naff IMO, thanks in advance. Nato straps always seem to make a Rolex stand out and they are rather comfortable and get more comfortable with use.

Where do you suggest is the best place to get these? I bought a Nato strap from Corvis but there range is limited.

I am a strap man...and like me you can even have several to switch and express the different personalities of your watch.  In the case of a GMT like this one, it opens the most possibilities but makes it also difficult to achieve a good result. 

Natos are fun, cheap and exist is a variety of colors so you can really play and match the parts you want on the watch, the dial, the indexes, the bezel, the GMT hand, or even several at a time.  Here is an example on a GMT  (not Rolex sorry)

Then if you go into custom made straps, you can put some thought and have fun. The watch makes it somewhat hard as it is multi colored and the bezel is faded.  I would suggest working with a blue leather, if you can find some which is mat or aged, or nubucked to match the blue fading of the bezel, then putting a contrasted red stitching.  This would give it a nice fresh colorful look for the summer.  Here is an example I briefed for a watch with some similar complexities, multi color, with blue and red...(again no Rolex, sorry!)

 

I am happy with the result.

There are many great straps you can use for your Rolex. Recently I ran into Rubber B straps. They are not affiliated with Rolex but they have a new twist which creates a completely different look for your Rolex.

I have a Rubber B strap ordered for my GMT-C.  I'll have it next week and will post a review sometime over the weekend...

Yes, very well might change the look of the watch.  I can already see the rubber strap as a good alternative to brushing the polished center link on the GMT-C's as well as a better fit around the watch head that the Nato's dont provide.
