Rolex Submariner Old man and the Sea

The Rolex Submariner has really weathered the test of time.  When you think of the life these chunks of stainless steel have enjoyed and endured you know you are part of their legacy.

 

 



 

Here they are presented as anchors in time.  Nothing to fancy just in their element.  Disguised among the lines and chains covered with scars they continue to anchor us in time.  I wanted to capture the mass rather than the beauty in these somewhat abstract shots.

 

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did in taking them.

 

Without further ado.  The Rolex 666, the Red Sub 1680 and the DRSD seen in perspective.

Although I doubt the raggedy old man in the novel would have the luxury of wearing one of these beauties, the character and sense of adventure they represent are most definitely very fitting to the story.
