Red writing, long minute and hour hands, lollipop second hand, gilt dial, indeed, this is what I needed to celebrate the 40 000 th picture taken with my Leica D Lux 4.
Serial number 113 xxx from I 1956.
For the comparison, side by side with mine, which is from I 1957.

I am so sorry your love story with the Explo turned wrong.
But I am pretty sure you will find yours, someday.
It took me a long time before finding mine, and the good part of the story is that I didn't find it by myself, but Baron did it for me!
So yes, this watch, not the red, veeh, but the other one, has a special place in my heart.

... yes, my previous romance story with the 6610 turned in a big fracass and deception, but you know... I got special contact with Cosmos!...
... And a replacement came a few days ago. No time to take pictures and make the presentation here yet.
No red writing, no complete perfect example (hands seem originals, but been relumed) but otherwise an original 1956 reference 6610, nice patinated dial with its gilt inscriptions, and very good condtion movement, bought from the nephew of original owner, some 1700 kilometers north of my home, with some original papers and documents for local Rolex Official services made to it.
Will prepare a review soon! I wish you´ll like it!
