My favorite Rolex watch period is the first half of the 1960'ies: gilt black lacquered dials and pointed crown guards are just fantastic!

But which is your favorite watch: GMT or Sub? Nico has stated his preference already. What is yours?

I tend to lean towards the Sub but my latest GMT makes the decision very difficult!

This: GMT 1675 from 1963.

Or that: Sub 5512 from 1960.

I am looking forward to hearing your preferences!

.....But I would always take a Submariner over a GMT! Its not to say that the GMTs in all their respective glory....from vintage through to modern, do not have considerable charm. Take my review from yesterday, if that is not a declaration of love!! BUT..... your question was specific. GMT or Sub.

There is so much variety in the Sub/SD family! Lovely watches, by the way. Just in case nobody has told you, yet... ;-)

...if it was Nicolas or Bill wrist, but talking about GMT king, i reminded the wristshot taken on Bill's boat...

But I can't remember if it was Bill's 6542 or mine...

You have a GMT for every occasion!

You can't choose between your 2 beloved children which one you love more. Frankly speaking I often asked the question to myself but never came close to an answer!

A "simple" Maxi Mk3 lolipop

They are simply complementing each other very well so why choosing?

However where I could choose (easily) would be if you would get rid of your gilt underline cornino chapter ring; then the choice would be really really easy!

But I think we are all very lucky as all of them are so beautiful.

1. this was purely theoretical as Bill will not let his underline go anyhow

2. in case Bill would like to get rid of it, it is better for him to have 2 options instead of one, LOL ;-)

3. in any case of whatever unforeseen reason Bill would forget you and would tell me only, I won't let you down and shall remember you were first, re-LOL ;-))))
