I recently bought a Rolex 5512 with case back stamped IV1962. The dial on the watch is all gilt with black gloss. I agree with many of the comment about gilt dials they are beautiful. The thing about this dial is that it is has no minute ring, it has gilt minute ticks instead, as well as "Swiss - T<25" in gilt below the six lume. There is no Chronometer certification on the dial. The combination of these make the dial unusual.
The serial number of the watch is 8702xx and is IV 62
I have spent some time investigating this dial and I have found 4 other watches with exactly the same dial. The interesting thing is that all of these watches were all produced in the final two quarters of 1962. I haven't be able to find any 5512 with this dial outside III '62 and IV '62. I believe that this watch is a pre SCOC and early no minute ring and early Swiss - T<25.
I am interested in your opinion. I have enjoyed the posts on gilt dials and 5512's that have been posted on the past.

As I said I have done some research on these dials. I found 4 other watches with the same dial. I found 3 on another forum s/n's 870545, 818620 and 818320. I found another on a commercial site. All these watches were produce in the 3rd or 4th quarter 1962. They were all 5512 and either had cal 1530 or 1560.
