The most important is that it pleases you. And you can't go wrong with a Dayto.

... a 116520, and learn that this reference is scarce again.

In my recent trip to Italy and France, I have been doing some window shopping and viewed steel Daytonas in many watch stores.

I know that in the past the 16520 was very scarce and demanding long periods waiting list, and that many collectors sustain that this period was the one which ignited the interest in vintage Daytonas and fueled the Rolex collecting craze.

I feel that with a little patience you should be able to find your watch, or as Nicolas well points, there is the pre owned/collector market with many offerings waiting for you.

I am among those who do not like so much the polished central links, but the charm of the modern Daytona made me forget about these details.

I wish you´ll find your soon, in time to hang it from your Christmas tree!

Best cordial regards, Abel.
PS: Take advantage to ask mine to say hi to you, to inspire your search! Lol! (16520 and 116520)

... yes the Patrizzi dial was a very fortunate find. The white dialed one was my first Daytona and fullfilled an old dream. Each with ist own character...  Both are sure keepers!

I wish Santa will arrive early for you with yours Raymond!

All the best!

here in Brazil is quite easy to find a 116520 in virtually any AD. The AD are forbidden to expose any ss daytona in the window, but if you enter the store and ask, they will have in stock.

Rolex for various reasons for a long time: volume, too many fakes, can't tell the differences for some of the models and many other brands copying their design.

There are 2 reasons I am looking at this watch. I like to have 2 or more watches of each brand I own. So for 2nd Rolex, I feel Daytona may be the one.

2nd reason: this brand seemed to hold value the best, so why not to have a watch that can enjoy plus, who knows one day my finances failed, I can still recoup a bit more than my other watches, haha smile)

I haven't set this in stone yet, will know this weekend.

I like Bvlgari too, my wife have an Ergon Chrono smile) the recent Octo Maserati edition looks awesome, but I don't have a Maserati to match smile)
