The orange accents are to die for.

The 6536/1 is a very underated watch, I feel! Usually the gilt printing is a wonderful dark copper, and there are many interesting details like white lollipop seconds hand and red triangle inlay.
Even though I really like my 5508, if offers less to look at! Only the 1530 movement is by far easier to service if you need spare parts!

Nice example BUT
The large lollipop hand is incorrect. I have been doing research on this.
It should be be a smaller hand like the one on Eric Ku collection (see hodinkee).
I question even if the lollipop white hand is at all correct (small or large) as the
6536-1 is an early reference. The first ones are from 1957 and it might be that they still carried
gilt hands like the earlier hands of the 6205 or 6204 still.
Perhaps someone knows when the white hands took over. I know it must have been towards
the end 1950s as some big crowns 5510 and 6538 are correct with the larger lollipop hands.
Vintage Rolex. There is so much to learn. Its a never ending story.

My experience
tells me otherwise. I have seen too many small crowns now especially 6536-1 to believe that my theory could perhaps be right.
I am not certain but if I had to bet - I say the large lollipop hand is incorrect. Maybe military versions had them for better legibility
but else they came with a small hand and not all were white. In fact I think most were perhaps not white.
Thank you for sharing though. It is one more data point we have to make our judgement and learn from.

Alot more than 2 watches I would think...?
For every two watches you show me I can show you 10 that had no white hand and no large bubble.
Your watches are the exception rather than the rule. However since I cannot be sure that I am right
I also have to be careful. It could also be that the few watches that have the supposed white big bubble hand
are indeed correct.
However with all the information I have. All the smallcrowns I own (4). Two of them being 6536-1. And more importantly all the watches I have seen as a collector make me have a bias towards believing that the white hand second hand big or small (especially big) is incorrect.

A friend here in Germany has two 6536/1 with white large seconds hand. In my database there are several more.

I preferred to chase after the big crown at the time.
I had the the 6202 and the 5508 and the 6536/1 all at the same time. But for some reason the big crown, heavier case and the 7924 and 5510 called out to me. I guess as opportunities arise to you jump on them.
Nothing at all against the small crown as each example I had was great. I then started to lean more to the 5512 gilt dials. So maybe as I reflect maybe the size was not so much the issue but the chase open up and I let all the small crown go to collectors who were chasing the small crowns.

the first batch of 6536/1 has been produced at the very beginning of 1956 ( cases in the 155.000 range ) so we know for sure that at least for this batch the lollipop hand is the pristine one.
