Beautiful watch Joe, and very precisely showing the "right" time 10:19! Lol!...

... this is a reference I know that will come in a near future. Somehow it has been elusive to me!

It was interesting to read your comment regarding your collection and how you see it has evolved in a "collection of favorites". I personally feel that this is the way I would like to find my own collection turn in the next months and years.

That means I need to "purify" it from pieces bought in other times or "epochs" of my collecting journey and depurate keeping those timepieces which give more pleasure to have on the wrist, and put an smile on my face every time I view it there.

Then I need to sell or trade those who were bought in other stages of my collecting interests that I do not presently enjoy with the same enthusiasm.

This is my goal for my future collecting activity and I am so glad to learn that this is the way you view and enjoy your collection.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful watch and your thoughts about collecting!
Best cordial regards, Abel.

.....i dont think there is a collector here who has not bought a watch and subsequently seen tastes change and no longer enjoy a watch. I think, for me, the watches that have lasted have been ones that have continually given pleasure each time on the wrist. The 1019 has only been with me for 7 months, so it is early days yet....but the ones that have really lasted always give pleasure....that has been my evolution. I think naturally that my collection has started to be pared....but it is a 2 steps forward 2 steps back process. I add watches every year...but also sell those that do not give pleasure.....i aim, each year, to sell less and less.

Joe hello! Thank you so much for your comments which I always...

... read with great interest.

Completely agree with your view, and I wish I will be able to do more or less the same in a near future.

First years in the long road of collecting are usually made with great entusiasm and little knowledge both technicaly and about our own personal tastes. Tastes and pleasure in owning a particular type or brand of watches is discovered as more and more miles are made.

Problem with me is that I am what my friends call a "Black Hole", that is objects enter and never go out. Lol!

This conspires both against budget as well as against the possibility of purifying the collection. I know I have to let go, to sell or to trade, but I have to make my mind and do it. I have to take the plunge! Lol!

I hope I will be able to do it along 2015. Let´s see the results next December!

Have a nice day Joe, with my best cordial regards, Abel.

Let me join in!

Very nice! And I agree with you: the 1019 has a very classy 70s chic. And it is an engineers watch, I feel, like a technical gauge.

Got mine a month ago and enjoy it thoroughly!

Congratulations Anatol

You went for black dial too. I deliberated for a long time over dial, but in the end the watch chose me.

Judging by your dial, I am guessing our two serial numbers are reasonably close.

Mine is a 2,4 mio. serial.

And I also have the silver dial it originally came with.

I just cannot decide whether to go black or silver. Silver is more scientific, black more dynamic. What a choice to make!

Can't remember what I ate yesterday . . .

. . . much less what I might've written long ago, but yeah, your vintage Milgauss exemplifies '70s style.

Enviously,
