Rolex

When the sun comes out, this watch comes out of its box for me.

Maybe it is the memory of picking it up from Italy in the summer, or maybe the Pesto Pasta i remember so well from Genova. Or maybe I just love seeing that gilt dial shine in the sun.

The dial is superb. When it catches the sun- must be a nice sight. The 5512 is a nice summerwatch indeed. Is your watch on a superdome plexi? It does not seem so. I finally found a superdome for mine and it makes a world of difference. I will post a some pictures when I have time. Best E

.....i have those on my 1665s and yes, you are correct, the supermodel really does make a watch quite special...a nice finishing touch

And when there is a little bit of ocean it make for a nice background for the Rolex 5512.

It is hard to capture the gloss of the dial but the spirit is there. and the dial has zero drag marks.

These old 5512 with chapter ring epitomize all the best character of a crown guard Sub. Such a beauty! No doubt this marvelous dial plays so nicely with sunlight!

As for the summer, the 16550. My all good 5508, probably the 6542, and one or two others, like the 1655 and the Yachtmaster.
