In
May, TAG Heuer announced its global partnership with MARV films and
20th Century Fox for the upcoming new film from acclaimed director
Matthew Vaughn,
'Kingsman: The Golden Circle', with a worldwide release scheduled for September,
2017. TAG Heuer’s Connected Watch is the official watch of the Kingsman agents.
TAG Heuer is also kitting out the Statesman agents in the new film - including the character, Agent Ginger Ale - with the Monaco collection. In recognition of this, TAG Heuer is unveiling the Monaco Lady Kingsman Special Edition, identical to the one worn in the film.

The Monaco. A watch with a unique design which, in 1971, shared the cinematic limelight with Steve McQueen, who insisted on wearing it during the filming of Le Mans . It has since become one of the most iconic watches in the TAG Heuer collection.
And now, the Monaco is making an appearance in the film 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle', sported by the character, Agent Ginger Ale, redesigned as a Kingsman special edition. In this version, the famous square dial is a compact 37 mm (compared to 39 mm on the men's version) and the blue has been replaced with a magnificent dark chocolate brown. The indexes and hands are plated with 5N rose gold and set with thirteen 1.30 mm VS diamonds (0.10 ct). A nod to the very British elegance of the film's agents. The watch is complemented by a handsome matt brown calfskin leather strap. The result is understated, sporty, and elegant.
Launched simultaneously in Geneva and New York on 3rd March 1969, the Heuer Monaco was the first square, water-resistant automatic chronograph watch in the history of Swiss watchmaking. Named by Jack Heuer after the Monaco Grand Prix (which TAG Heuer continues to partner to this day), the watch broke completely with the traditional watchmaking aesthetic.
This is evidenced by its large square case, with bold right angles, metallic blue dial, domed plastic crystal, and especially its crown positioned to the left, which signified at the time that the watch did not need to be wound. Just as innovative at the time, its technology offered perfect water resistance - a first for a square watch. However, the origins of the revolution lay inside the watch: the famous Chronomatic Calibre 11, which was the first automatic chronograph movement offered for sale in the history of watchmaking. Instantly recognisable and often copied, the "McQueen Monaco" (1133B model) has since become a much coveted watch on the auction and collectors' circuit.
