Thank you for sharing this watch with us!
I'll be honest: I have never been a big fan of Hublot, even back in the old days. I have tried the 'classic' series but never quite been able to fall for them; and the Big Bang chronograph and various sports teams / Ferrari / other special editions have always made me run the other way, fast. I wasn't going to disparage anyone else's taste; Hublot just wasn't for me.
But this new movement and the watch it's in are intriguing, to the point that I've just found myself looking at the photos and thinking, "Hey! I could wear that!". And I never expected such a thought would cross my mind.
I really like the apparent simplicity, the lack of a date wheel, the presence of a power reserve - this is just about telling the time, which is how I like it. And the case no longer appears anywhere near as overblown and needlessly complex as I found it to be with chronograph pushers. (I have always liked the rubber strap and the system for changing them.)
One caveat - the movement itself appears an industrial artefact; there's no traditional sign of handcraft. To be fair this is probably in keeping with the overall vibe; but I'd have to see how it hits me in person.
The linear 'rack' between 11 and 12 o'clock is curious - is this something to do with the power reserve indicator?
Looking forward to hearing more about this one!
