Thanks!

But alas I fear I may have a problem or sickness smile It's not like me to have three similar watches (nt)

So, how come you were infected here?

 By: KMII : December 30th, 2015-06:05
Any special reason? And is there a favorite amongst the three? smile

I do not know

 By: blackthought : December 30th, 2015-06:46
When the GS poison infected me but slowly I came undone after my first one or two, and the GS collection grew. My first was the sbga031, followed by the sbga001.

Probably after I spent time reading numerous GS posts from Cazalea, KIH, SJX and Bernard Cheong. It took me sometime to put aside my snob factor and learn to appreciate GS and also Seiko in general. Just the attention to detail, the value proposition, the history, the finish of the dial, markers and hands etc. Of course not to mention the GS standard of polish on the titanium that the OP highlighted. I also love the size of the screw down pushers on the SBGCs and use them to time everything.

So sorry my apologies to the OP for hijacking his thread.
Thanks!

Thanks for giving some more background :)

Can see how it can happen, got my first one (SBGX097) in September and the next one (SBGH035) soon after. Very fascinating watches smile

I've got a "legendary Daytona"let's do a comparison test

Like one of the car magazines !
Depth for diving, 0-60 mph, fuel economy (running time per wind), etc.
Where are you located, Blackthought?

Rolex Daytona 116520 vs. Grand Seiko SBGC013 Round 1: Accuracy

 By: SALMANPK : December 30th, 2015-11:56

Source: WatchTime October 2001

Rolex is +-2 Seconds per Day

VS.

Source: http://www.grand-seiko.com/

+-10 Seconds per month, that would make it .33 seconds per day

So Round 1 goes to the Grand Seiko SBGC013

I just got these two with the watch, I have a feeling something is missing, what did you get with yours?

Spring Drives don't come with a timing certificate

 By: cazalea : December 30th, 2015-08:27
I think Seiko decided it's a waste of paper as they are all darn near perfect, and it would take months of running to vary a second or two.

Hi S,

 By: blackthought : December 30th, 2015-22:03
Yes those are the docs that I got too. As Cazalea pointed out, the timing cert is for mechanicals only smile

Gratuitous GS Chrono Pictures

Not a GS, but on the wrist of a gal assembling the 9R86 Spring Drive movements.
