Here we have two divers from around the same era. Well the doxa is a little older than the Seiko 6309-7049 the 6105 would be much closer. But the 6309 compares quite well to the Doxa 300T. This Doxa has the original orange color retaining ring and some lovely patina just like what Jacques Cousteau wore for many years.
Basically you choose a depth and the corresponding bottom time is aligned to it in minutes.

So looking at 100 on the outer ring you get 25 mins bottom time at that depth. However nobody uses that for actual diving as it is a little outdated and rather liberal. I was based on the US Navy table at the time. Today you use a dive computer/watch that takes into account repetitive dives etc. Bill
That's one of the things I like about mechanical watches

They may have been superseded by dive computers or sailing watches, but we're still interested in the original mechanical versions. Be it a dive watch or regatta watch - they still have a draw. Cheers JML
