Switching (Seiko) themes but staying vintage: 56GS
A wrist shot from yesterday of my 5646 Grand Seiko from 1972. Iām very partial to the vintage GS with both day and date display, no real reason for this but just the preference.
I keep thinking I need to get some different straps for these vintage GS, to add a little colour. However what the black straps allow for is preventing the eye from being distracted and therefore one can really appreciate the fantastic cases of these watches.
You seem to have quite the collection of vintage GSs, Jay!

I will post a group shot at some point when the light it good. I tried a few evenings ago but with inside lighting and the pictures were'nt really good.
The vintage GS is like a sub collection, and something I've built up over a number of years going to Japan (together with some other vintage Seiko). I would like to find a few more, especially of the 61GS. A cross dial is on my radar and so too is one reference with a coloured dial. But these coloured dialed variations are few and far between and so I'm not sure of my chances.
