brilliant to have a Seiko forum and i will try to re review my meagre offerings soon.
desperately looking for the elusive 1964 Grand Seiko. found one at great price with a good buy it now, but seller withdrew it before i could make an offer. found another without the gold medallion on the back, these are virtually impossible to replace so had to pass on it.
will it ever happen?
hopefully one day. in the meantime i may buy a modern Seiko like the 50th Anniversary of Seiko 5 which is an interesting model.

Sadly, I remember nothing about the acquisition of this pocket watch or its previous life. Maybe eBay?
It's got a small crack in the crystal but not so noticeable that I've tried to find a new one.

I think it means hacking seconds, as the hand stops when crown is pulled
shall I open it up and see what that movement looks like in the Seiko pocket watch?
And the world's thickest case or movement spacer ring. Fingerprints too! Time for a cleaning.
Aha! It's a 6110A wristwatch movement, which I can use to date the watch to 1971.

Mine says hi.
Since I bought mine in Taiwan, where Mandarin is the official language, the day display can be set in either English or Chinese characters. Only 150 of this watch were allocated to Taiwan; I was lucky enough to see and grab it right after its release.

Actually, I've been asked
quite a lot about the dial. The answer is: "Sorry, it's not porcelain, though it does look like."
A porcelain dial would be nice, but this pure white dial is just as fine for me.
I remember there were other commemorative models with porcelain dials, which also came with higher price tags than this one.
As for my watch collection, I would share it somewhere else (perhaps HoMe would be approprate?).
Here on this thread, let's just enjoy the beauty of this SEIKO Presage SRP385J1.

I was one of the lucky ones to secure this beautiful watch.
However I am still wondering why the date window is not a neatly cut square/rectangle? It looks like it was punched through. Could this have anything to do with the dial being in enamel? Or is there some other reason?

no, sadly that is one that eludes me. i had a 65 GS and my 64 KS is a stunning performer after being self adjusted. my Beijing anniversary handwind is also a superb performer after self adjustment.
eyes open please folks. if anyone knows where a gold medallion can be found then theres a 64 GS with my name on it
