Seiko

Not obscure, but

Hi

While it's not obscure- a Bellmatic is one of Seiko's more known models - it is definitely old!

Here's a quick wrist shot of mine

Nice golden glow off that dial

i had a nice blue Bellmatic that has disappeared, and I have two that don't run.

Yours looks great. Do you use its alarm?

Cheers,

Mike

Intermitently

Hi

Its running and I wear it quite regularly.  The alarm is a bit subdued - I'm not sure if thats normal or if its due for a service.

Though to be honest a Service probably would do any harm, even if I don't wear it too regularly.

Love the dial its very much of its era - I'm thinking metallic brown! Time to get your flares out smile

Aren't tempted to try and reactivate one of yours?

Cheers

I am, and I found someone to do it, but haven't pulled the trigger

Here they are. I think I could get one good one out of the two - although Mr Black has 27 jewels and Mr White has only 17 I'm told most things interchange.

They're most definitely not running - good luck with the project! [nt]

My Blue Planet

My Blue Planet World Time Limited Edition from around 1999/2000.

I first saw this watch in a magazine around year 2000. Loved the picture of it so much I tear the page out and it sort of became my dream watch. That was before any knowledge or interests into haute horology. Then in 2003 I had a chance to travel to Japan and, while randomly window shopping in a department store, found this on display in the watch counter. This is my first real manufacture watch and remain a favourite. All the scratches remind me of the days when I would wear my lovely watch every day and wouldn't have to worry about resell value, or keeping it nice and clean for posterity. Of course nowadays even my Seiko 5 receives quite a bit more care and general maintenance. smile

Is this the watch you mean?

Thanks for stepping into the conversation. Is this your watch?

Hi Cazalea, apologies here are the pictures. Problems with uploading earlier.

Nice styling. I haven't seen this watch before

It's a traditional Seiko look but cleaner and more refined. No chronograph, somewhat eccentric location of the countries on the outside of the bezel, and funky lugs.
Very cool. Thanks for coming onboard to show us this watch.
Do you have other Seikos?

My other Seiko

Thanks Cazalea. Here is my other Seiko. I wear this during summer or when I am on the road or when needing to do a bit of manual labour. It runs at about -8 seconds/day.
