My initial feeling was that the Altiplano white gold with classic white dial is the best 'swanky' watch for formal events.  After all, white with black markers and strap match most formalwear.  I already have a white gold with white enamel dial to prove the hypothesis.

Then, I saw the rose gold Altiplano and wavered......

Now, here's a thought -- what about a rose gold watch with black dial?  That would be something!

It's a tried and true combination, really.

Your Piagets, those of which I'm aware, at least, are all white metals if I recall correctly (steel Upstream and white gold Altiplano), so maybe they need a(nother) rose gold stablemate.

especially the rose gold model.  Very simple and elegant.  I personally like having a seconds hand on the dial, but these watches are still fantastic.

...and I like Piaget's shade of rose gold very much after living with a rose gold Altiplano Double Jeu for a few weeks.  Oh, the trials of a Moderator!  You get to wear a fantastic piece like the gem-set Double Jeu and then have to give it back after falling in love with it!

than never worn at all, but I can imagine it would be hard to part with the ones you really enjoy.  I think I would keep making up reasons to try to keep the watch a little longer, such as the need to evaluate accuracy over a 6-12 month period

and understated.Would be difficult to choose between the white gold and the rose gold---would have to be seen in the metal.
their recent batches of ultrathin watches have awakened my interest in piaget to the extent of wanting to acquire them!
Any idea of their price points?

...but I want to say the white gold/silver dial is around 12K USD list and the rose gold is a little less.  I'll double check tomorrow.

As my wedding is in the works for sometime during the fall.

The rings are very nice, I will definitely look into them.

BTW, the classic Altiplano with white dial is featured in a spread in this months GQ. A great watch for any moment in life.
