Was really interested in this watch, but find it impossible to justify at this price. It’s more than the VC American 36.5mm 😮
I wonder who’s the client at this price for such a simple watch. If you really appreciate it might make more sense to go vintage. Sotheby will be auctioning some very interesting vintage Cartiers throughout the year (1st stop is in Hong Kong). I’m going to certainly keep an eye on these auctions.

Also might you know the prices of the tank cintree and the cloche too?! Cartiers tend to hold their value better than other big brands due to demand exceeding supply. And I promise you that the VC1921 although with a superior movement will have a poorer resale value than the Cartier. I know this as I had owned the tank normale issued two years ago and also a VC1921 in white gold.

The tank normale released in 2023 had costed about 27,900 euros without tax but in my opinion, it does not look as good as the current new release due to the Breguet hands which make a massive difference to the looks of a watch. Arguably, those hands may not be worth the premium but once you adjust the new price you had stated for an ex tax price which is about 31,600 euros, the price becomes more acceptable taking into account inflation and the price of gold over the past three years.
