


Cartier in the 70s was three separate entities - Cartier New York, London and Paris - each run by descendants of the three Cartier brothers. They were later reunited by the Vendome Group (now Richemont).
As for restoration I would not do such a thorough restoration; originality is preferred, especially since this has sentimental value. The case obviously needs replating or replacement, but I'd keep the dial and hands, and movement.

I do believe that this NY version is equiped with the same movement eta 2512 as the the swiss Must tanks en LC of that time.
Always to repair by a skilled watchmaker I think.
