F.P. Journe

Today is the first time I let my tourbillon fully wind down. It reached the 42 hour mark since yesterday.
I pick it up this morning and it is still moving.
It stops at 8.45am and I see it stops infront of me, how beautiful
This watch is time to my computer and when it stops, my computer time is also 8.45am.
It means it has kept accurate time all the way till the last minute. Quite amazing and it sounds impossible.
My Resonance tends to deviate at the laste few hours but not this Tourbillon.
Also, in the last hour , the remontoir is already not 'working' as it is rotating smoothly and not clicking.
So, I don't think it is the constant force at work.

And most impressive!  The remontoir tends to kick in somwhere just after 30 hours have elapsed.  I've never watched it in the final hour to see if it no longer is needed.  Very interesting.  Now I must wait 42 hours before I can report.

Right now my power reserve is at 42 and the remontoir is in full force... stuttering along... click, click, slow turn, click, slow turn. So amazing to watch how it turns the connecting wheel inside. The time is perfectly synced with my computer. Not sure if I can stay up another 10 hours.

Time still perfectly synced with computer time. Remontoir much slower.... click......... click......... about 11 times per minute. Not sure if I'll catch the final second but so far excellent performance. Maybe in the final seconds the remontoir releases and that's why it gave the apperence it "wasn't working". Now 11 hours later, with my watch on the verge of stopping the remontoir is spinning more freely but still has a stop start motion as it drives the gear inside. The time perfectly in sync with my computer. Fascinating and amazing to watch. I wish I had a video camera to share.

As I'm typing, I'm listening to the remontoir clicking sound. So tranquil
It seems like the constant force remontoir Journe use is getting popular and recognise.
Lange has just use the remontoir for 'their 31 days watch'.
From elsewhere I read , they regonise the importance of the Remontoir and how it function 'similarly' to the Fusee Chain.
The article somehow mention that Lange is the first one to use the Remontoir as itself since Journe use it to 'power' the tourbillon.
I find that statement 'funny'. If I'm not wrong, they are using the remontoir to 'power' the 31 days power reserve.
In my mind, there's no doubt Journe is THE FIRST when it comes to modern world Remontoire. Just like Fusee Chain is for Lange
To claim otherwise is just 'funny'.
The reason Lange can't use the Fusee Chain for their new 46mm watch is there's not enough space
I now really appreciate how thin and small Journe watches are, with all these complications pack in it.
Now, I'm sure I'm no longer hungry for a PLM. This Tourbillon is equal to that with a much much attractive price
Please give me a slap if I ever post a WTB: PLM again ;-)

I've sold most of my Lange population, but for my ever loved datograph, and completly agree with you.  Both of FPJ tourb's (origional and dead seconds) and Resonance are heads and sholders above many other pieces (PP...) that are  more expensive and not nearly as exclusive, unique, refined.

The Calendrier, too, for example, is just a ton more exquisite then other annual's at similar price points.  In other crafts (yachts, cars, etc.)  the Journes would sell for twice their current price point as compared to quality broadly based production pieces.  Perhaps someday they will...
