I recently sold my CS and wanted to move into another Journe piece- my dealer as an Octa Reserve Luna with the brass movement(which is discontinued)- he said this watch will be more collectible then the new gold movements Journe currently makes his watches with, the watch also has the yellow gold face which he said they dont make anymore- is this a collectible watch and is it worth more then the new versions of the watch?
The YG Octa Lune with is absolutely collectible as this dial was discontinued when the brass movements were changed to gold ones. One of the reasons was FPJ felt that a YG dial was not a suitable match to a RG movment. As for your question about wich is more collectible, well that depends on the collector. Will it be worth more then new versions? Again not really the subject of this forum but over time I think all Journe's will continue to increase value to reflect the creativity, ingenuity, craftmenship, scarcity, innovation, and horological genious that all FPJ watches posseses.
