A nice Oyster Date

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Ref. 1500 Long Index Blue Dial from 1971 isn't one we often see. The case measures 34 mm and the watch is powered by automatic caliber 1570 . How do you like it? I'm not really a Rolex guy and I'm not very much into blue d

Very well said.

And even though I think the Oysterquartz has more charm and authenticity, I was surprised to find the LD very attractive when trying it on. Both have their 'raison d'être', imo. And let's not forget the ref. 1530, which has the specificity of having both

A Great Guide!

Thank you Bill! Nice to see crown-guard less Subs! And good to know that the 1530 caliber change came with the model change and that all 5510s have the 1530 caliber. I was mistakenly under the impression that some 5510s had the 1530 caliber, while some ha

A good surprise

I'm not very much into Rolex, but I've always liked the design of the Oysterquartz case and the ref. 1530 & 1630 (Oysterquartz case with a mechanical movement), so I wanted to see the Land-Dweller in the metal. I asked to try on the 36 mm ref. 127234

Congratulation on a great choice. You will surely enjoy this one.

There is a lot of love for all the GMT's in this forum. From a brother 16750 last of the Tritium. This one is a transition with no "Date" text on the upper "Oyster Perpetual" line the more common and going forward was "Oyster Perpetual Date" Be careful th

The watch is handsome looking. It is probably close to 40 years old.

It was the next model after the 1603 non quickset. It probably had several dial options. Searching on the web you can find similar looking versions but from pictures not always easy to confirm. The image below is similar but I am not an expert in this mod
