Making a case for Patek Philippe's ref. 5123 with cal. 215 PS ?

The release of the new Calatrava ref. 6196P got me thinking (a thread dedicated to this reference can be found here ). It uses the 30-255 PS caliber which was introduced in 2021 with the ref. 6119 . With its diameter of 31 mm , this caliber is much better

Google's AI has the answer to some of your questions...

The Patek Philippe 5135P was discontinued in 2011. It was introduced to the market in 2004 and was produced for only seven years. The platinum examples were made for the shortest amount of time, only from 2006 until 2011. The distinctive and elegant case

Trying to find out more about the history of some recently purcased models

Started a business 7 years ago and used the proceeds from selling all 3 of my PPs: 5135R, 5960P and 5110J, to get the business off the ground. No regrets....it worked out well. Luckily, during the last few moths was fortunate to re-acquire some models and

Is this going to be a well regarded classic?

Hi Michael and FabR, quick question id like to ask. I am contemplating getting the 6119R,but due to not being very affluent I need to be very careful with my purchase. I obviously think its beautiful, but do you guys think there's a place for 6119 as a cl

Nice ref and post Joe, thank you.

Although the movement is too small for the case size, I am somewhat relieved that the watch comes with a solid case back unlike the 5119. So at least e can't seen the movement drowned in the case back like the 38mm 5123R for example. Nice watch in all var

There is indeed a ref. 5023 Tonypatch, and it's a fine reference.

Classic hand wound calatrava with small subseconds, cal. 215, and around 33-34mm iirc. Very well proportioned and traditionally styled, it's sadly under appreciated by today's market. Unlike the standard "96" series the case has a stepped rather than flat

A little visit to see the Patek 5159G

I mentionned in the past that I really have a soft spot for this romantic watch. This is due to the case of course but also because it shows the Retrograde date and PC complications in a very beautiful way... One of the last in the collection with Roman n

Interesting thoughts

Well Elio, a black dial is looking quite more modern, today, at least less conservative. However, Patek has provided black dial in the past and especially during the 30's/40's. At that time, black doesn't look more modern but more "Art Deco". So I guess i

Well, maybe in the future they will :)

They have 2 or 3 hands only models without date but it is the "clous de Paris" references 5116, 5119 or 5120, so it is really different and not at all the same style and not as versatile. I guess that for someone liking no date dials for dressy watches, o
