In his comment to my thread dedicated to the Patek Philippe/Somazzi partnership , our dear Gordon aka GLau asked me how many retailers were able to have their signature on some Patek Philippe watches . Here's my answer : A / I have identified 58 retailers

For me there is one significant deficiency regarding the legendary Patek 3448 and 2499 models. One cannot quick set the calendar functions.

Specifically, one cannot quick set the month (there is no month corrector), and there is no indication of the leap year cycle. Practically this means one might have to depress the day/date corrector over a 1,000 times to correctly set the watch. Patek app

'The San Remo' Central Park West

(Screenshots from web) Over the years, the "Generations" campaign has always been motivational for me. It made me feel something. As I became more vested, the ads made me appreciate emotional heirloom value - which never crossed my mind before. Now many y

I agree with you..

There is something special abt the case.. it’s rather strong and sporty.. the 3970 and 5970 abt both thick watches ~ 13mm.. the 40mm case balances it out perfectly.. the only complain I have is the date ring eats into the minute track.. setting the time t

3970 versus 5970 is a comparison I have given considerable thought to. What I am about to write is not an assessment of which I think is the “better” watch (whatever that means).

It is merely and only my personal preference. 3970 clearly has the DNA of 2499/100 (4th and final series). 2499 is regarded by many as not only the GOAT Patek, perhaps the GOAT watch by any brand. The 3970 case aesthetically is basically a slightly smalle

THE 4th series 2499 w/stamp

Wow 🤯…this is an amazing write-up and concise thread on this amazing series. The 4th series 2499 w/Tiffany Stamp is also the same reference that Yoko Ono purchased for John Lennon. I’m sure there are very few examples of this. When John Lennon’s 2499 fina

When I think of all the great Pateks from the “modern era”, which for purposes of this post I postulate as being from approximately 1985 to present, there is one watch

that stands out above all others as my clear favorite. It is the 5970 - in any metal. For me the it is about as perfect as a watch can be, from both a functional and aesthetic standpoint. Love the perpetual calendar chronograph complication, the size and

Brahms' First Symphony is said to be as if a classical masterpiece comparable to Beethoven's 10th Symphony. In the same way, 3970 1st edition might be the successor PCC to the last 2499.

The ref. 3970 series has been gaining popularity in recent years, with the first model with a snapback structure matching or even surpassing the market value of the ref. 2499 4th series from a while back. Among these, the ref. 3971 with a see-through back
