The dealer is in the USA, Very big Authorized Patek dealer.

My watch is a rare 5136/1g. It went in for a Complete service and refinishing of bracelet which had to be sent to Geneva. So I’m fairly certain it went to henri stern agency also because the service estimate was from henri stern. But again I didn’t mail t

Yes, I forgot the 5136 variants. Here they are!

For me though, the bracelet gets in the way of the very sober design: just my feeling and personal taste, of course. And I'm only judging from photos: I would maybe feel differently in real life. Thanks for looking. 5136/1G-001 5136/1J-001

Total admiration from me :-)

The Salon does not accept deposits and will not allow payment split via two credit cards but I am not too worried about the latter. If only they took a deposit from me, even a sizeable fifty percent deposit would be agreeable. To find a brand new watch th

Hey, that is my wrist!!!

and I can confirm that I have not been exiled to Hodinkee yet! I love that 5170P but those lugs do stick out as witnessed by others when I tried it on. In fact, my mate John who was with me at Basel when I tried it on agreed that the 5136G below was a muc

Guilty as charged! :-)

I was actually with a fellow purist at Basel and even he agreed that this 5136G fitted my wrist perfectly compared to the 5170P. I think the angle of the shot fails to show the lugs on the 5170P which do not curve sufficiently in my opinion and therefore

Thanks Mike!

I was quite surprised how much better the 36mm 5136G fitted my wrist compared to a 5140. And as I do not trust my own judgement at times, I tend to get whoever is assisting me at the Patek Salon to confirm that my eyes are still working

Sorry Mike but

The bracelet Patek is a 5136G and is 36mm (measured at the Patek Salon) and is smaller than the 5140 range. The 5136G lived during the time of the 3940 and a little during the 5140. It was a cross section of the two in that it measured 36mm but had the nu

Absolutely agree

Having more than one perpetual is not issue at all. Especially not if they happen to be manufactured by Patek. The 5940 and 5136 wears differently so suits different occasions. Good luck with your decision and look forward to reading about how it evolves!

Thanks Mark!

I actually wish I can purchase the 5136G today but my golden handshake from my retirement comes in only in June hence the wait! But yes you are right Mark - I have a good friend who has three Patek chronographs and is looking for his fourth! Others have a

I think this may be a good choice

Yes, the 5940, with it wonderful elegance and refinement, may be close to the 5136 because of the PC complication and the way it is displayed but they are totally different watches because of the case and strap or bracelet. Possessing two PCs is a good as
