I guess I'll answer this again, as I had a chat on related matters with the people at Patek before buying this watch earlier this summer, but Volker please feel free to chime in if you want to add something.

Initially, I also considered this move by Patek rather unusual -- listing the 5088/100P as a "Limited Edition" (see my picture below from the 2015 Rare Handcraft book), and then keeping the reference for a few years in the regular catalog as well. This is

Thanks for the interesting question! For your reference, I included below the movements of a few other Grand Complications in the current catalog...For sure, in terms of "angles" (and also overall beauty of the movement) the 6301 is pretty competitive ;-)

minute repeater ! Naturally the black enamel dial is a big plus for me. Another pleasant surprise is the jumping / "dead-beat" seconds ! I would love to see the synchronization of the second jumping from 59 to 60 and hearing the hammer striking ! Eagerly
