Thank you for that intro to the SBGH376, Emmanuel. I think the faint green of the dial and the gold case go very nicely together...

But as I already have a 62GS model in SS with the same high-beat movement, I can't say that the SBGH376 wins me over enough to want to get it as well.

The new “Sakura-Wakaba” 62GS

The yellow gold Grand Seiko “ Sakura-Wakaba ” ref. SBGH376 pays homage to the 62GS , Grand Seiko's first automatic watch launched in 1967 . Designed by Taro Tanaka , the case of the 62GS had a bezel-less design , with the crystal sitting directly on the c

Another Classic GS Case

My only modern Grand Seiko, which of course just happens to be a reissue of a vintage GS. This one, released about a decade or so ago, honors GS’s first automatic wristwatch (the 62GS) which was launched in 1967. Key design features of this one, versus ot

Grand Seiko Spring Drive SBGY009 - my latest acquisition

Since I started collecting Grand Seikos, I had always wanted a spring drive reference but for some reason, have been buying their watches with other movements. The Snowflake wears too big for me at 41mm, the Shunbun has the dial I love but in its 62GS cas

It’s looking very good on that nato.

It seems to me that with the new Evo9 case, maybe due to lug height, natos look better then straps generally as with straps there seems to be a huge difference between the height of the strap to the height of the case ratio, as natos sit higher passing ab

(もっと) Grand Seiko

When it rains it pours ! Earlier this week I was wearing this GS. The only modern GS I own, have ever owned, but it’s a vintage inspired 600 piece (in steel) reissue from 2015. The original 62GS was the first automatic, and this is a pretty faithful reiss

I think there was another US edition GS before this, launch last Sunday…Wow, buy before they’re sold out!

With its delicate texture, the dial of SBGH295 is inspired by the clear blue skies over the Sea of Japan during the early winter months. The reimagined 62GS design calls back to a model from Grand Seiko’s archives, first released in 1967. With its mirrore
