The process was described to me by the manager at the NYC shop. The laser "process" will fill in the deeper scratches and add weight to the watch. Yes metal is added to the watch. No, I did not weigh my watch before and after but the results are spectacular.

I have worn this bracelet for the last year and have recently switched back to the sailcloth strap. I find I prefer it, so this is just sitting on a shelf. Listed as 90-95% condition as I wear my watches as much as possible and this one gets the most wrist time. Usual swirls and light marks, nothing
