I recently acquired an Omega with some similar provenance
One commissioned to the Hydrographic Survey (H.S. 8) of the British forces, ca. 1943. It's a similar watch to those used by RAF airmen, with an aluminum alloy case (steel case back) and fixed wire lugs.
