Horological Meandering: Decluttering

I am too in that mode; not yet shifted attention to watches, jewelry, etc. Easier to accumulate than reverse-accumulate. This needs some thought. The keepers are obvious - the kids try to “borrow”, the others merely linger.

Officine Panerai: The watch is the "brand"

No need for bold self-serving mfr. advertisement - logo - on my wrist. Date not relevant to me, best an option for those others that prefer. Personally, as I wear multiple watches and am not always perfectly disciplined as to winding, I reference the date on my phone anyway. The original style Cali

No current pics .... Will try and take some. Will say the cordovan straps are awesome. Made another acquisition, so moderating wear of Manometro. Still no excuse for underperformance of factory PVD finish. Still like and wear watch.... Also craved by 20 something daughter? NOT!

Independents: Forgiving

We would all be more forgiving if we shared our dogs sense of time. No concept of either fractions or decimals, let alone rounding errors. Why do our dogs bark when the door bell rings? They are right, it is always for them. And, no one say otherwise.

Horological Meandering: 58 years later and on my wrist

Was cleaning a drawer at my mother's home, found a 1950's Le Coultre Futurematic that was probably in a drawer for 20 years. Brought to my local watchmaker. He smiled from ear to ear. That's what I guessed, however in the on-the-wrist photo, the watch has a somewhat more industrial, unfinished look, which I find very appealing. Is this just a matter of lighting and angles?
