Rolex: Is that really a Ref 1803?

I thought the "bark" finish of the bezel and lugs meant that it was a Ref 1807. Whatever Ref it is, it's lovely - I'm envious.

I view Horological Meandering on my Mac in what I consider 'original format' (see below). I have given up with the other forums since I can no longer see them in this format - on the PC they appear garbled. When/if the HM format goes that way too I shall probably give up the site. Is there a way of

Horological Meandering: How about a Zodiac?

...Or are they from the 1970s? I was never sure whether they were serious diving watches or just chunky jewellery (as Rolexes are for most of us desk divers). At least they should be available at a reasonable price.
