Horological Meandering: Three Watches... But Damn, the Differences!

The Omega Proplof is gorgeous, while the Monaco is iconic. But oh boy, the Day Date is timeless. Both the Proplof and Monaco seemed to have aged, but it seems like the Daydate is still very relevant in today's age. My humble thoughts.

Horological Meandering: Highly Agree on this point!

I believe the date display should complement the watches, and it should not stick out like a sore thumb. I like how certain brand managed to integrate it very well into the design, but it is a pain in the a*** to see one that is placed oddly (like you've mentioned, between the 4-5 o'clock location),

Horological Meandering: Great insights, Doc!

Thanks for opening up this chapter. Of course, it all boils down to the tiny little details; details that people don't usually bother to check out. That is dedication, and it shows the integrity and passion that goes towards watchmaking. I am glad that you brought this topic up.

Horological Meandering: With regards to the rules...

I think you can include Swatch now, with the Sistem51. I am pretty sure many respected collectors here are awed by the technological advances this piece has, and I am pretty sure it wouldn't hurt to collect a couple of these. Just my two cents :)

Horological Meandering: Nice pictures!

And the UN dials... Gosh, they are beautiful! A nice juxtaposition of complexity (from the UN) and simplicity (the Pam and the JLC Reverso)!

A. Lange & Söhne: Good luck to the participants!

Too bad I couldn't participate... I do not own a Lange :(

Horological Meandering: Well...

Not a bad idea, considering how some watchmakers actually gained their inspiration from automobile... Such as MB&F's HM5 (from Lamborghini Miura), Hublot (LaFerrari.. from Ferrari of course). Perhaps you can design it and show us your ideas? :D
