You will lose water resistance but I wouldn’t trust any vintage watch to be water resistant without a thorough vetting. Maybe just take it off when you wash your hands. It’s a bit like putting clothes on a beautiful person and asking if the clothes look nice. Such people make all clothes look nice! That being said, the bracelet looks appropriate.
