Vacheron Constantin: It makes total sense.

Up to about the 1970s, >35mm was considered pretty big, 38mm was a jumbo size. I think it’s just that we’ve gotten very used to bigger watches (and perhaps people have gotten a bit bigger generally), but for smaller wrists, sizes <38mm work well in most cases.

Patek Philippe: Very lucky you!

I found it using Google search and it immediately stood out to me as an great example of a ref 96. Killer watch. I'm not sure if I would ever let it go if I had it...

Vacheron Constantin: VC tonneau, 1929, yellow gold

Curved tonneau case with domed crystal. Big applied Breguet numerals on a champagne colored dial and cathedral style hands. Hinged case back. Cal 9’ 94, adjusted in 5 pos. At 23mm x 42mm and 8.5mm, wears surprisingly pretty big. Wouldn’t it be interesting if VC still made watches like this?
