Like many others, I found this platform when researching about a watch i wanted to purchase. Amazing treasure trove of knowledge, and such research and writings must be archived well to ensure they're easily accessible. Thank you so much Bill, for making this possible...your efforts make this hobby
The case design, the crystal curvature and the movement is gorgeous. To me, the movement itself makes it a grail watch. Thank you for the beautiful close up shots Emmanuel. Legendary watch in my books, as I love patek shaped watches. Rishi
Well I guess its also the Patek's curved crystal that makes it difficult to balance another on top of it. However that being the case, I just knew Emmanuel ,would at a heart beat, let the 5098 be the one to rule them all! Agree the Patek crown is not easy to wind, sexiest lugs is from the VC, sexies
So the saga of the Gondolo continues....and I'm delighted! I love my whisky too Emmanuel, and after much runs with many cocktails, one still runs back to the classic old fashioned. I learnt that from the infamous Don Draper, mad men fame!! I read lots of postings here before I bought my 5098. I got
I love that alpine eagle to...dude, you've got both pieces with the killer movements! Amazing duo..... 4.96 movement here can’t match the finishing on the 1.96 or the newer version in the lucent steel 1860
I feel the quattro version IV has a better shaped crown, lugs and case. But mark 1 is significantly thinner just under 9mm, 38mm...my wrist is barely 16cm. More importantly...the dial for both the original versions of 1860 and 1863 were 18k gold, with engine turned guilloche, and the circular brushi
Wears beautifully thin...just around 10mm. Good heft, and very legible, except the date bit. Fantastic accuracy too... +1.5 sec per day right up till day 8! How does your micro rotor hold power reserve? Rishikesan
Hope to complete a little collection with my luc pieces when opportunity comes...love the idea of the dial without the date window Wear it in the best health! Rishikesan
Its a great shot... One built like a tank...one pure refinement. One tool, one dress...both luxury, and one being super famous brand, the other being independent, still much under the radar. Perhaps the next Philip Dufour in the making... I truly respect both brands for what they represent! Rishi
To you my friend i say...congratulations! Wear it in the best of health. Its a phenomenal watch, some of us wished we had a good wrist like yours. I also tell my fellow friends how lucky we are to be blessed with good fortune to be able to acquire a true horology marvel from an outstanding brand nam
