A family picture of what I had. From let to right:

P 476 / E 163 Powermatic Jumbo / E 501 Futurematic / E 855 early one ( 1959 ) / E 329 Crosshairs / Geomatic Rose Gold.

I sold the P 476, Powermatic and the E 329 Crosshairs. Kept the 3 others.

But it was great to build a collection around vintage JLC watches, which were pioneers for JLC. The P 476 was the first one for the brand, the Powermatic was original with its power reserve and we don't have to introduce the Futurematic.

Best,

Nicolas

About the Jaeger-LeCoultre Powermatic Ref. E163

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Powermatic, reference E163, represents an early integration of a power reserve indicator into a wrist watch, a feature that provided practical utility to the wearer. This reference is notable for its "Jumbo" sizing, distinguishing it from smaller contemporary models and making it a significant piece for collectors interested in larger vintage timepieces from the brand. It was part of a series of innovative watches from Jaeger-LeCoultre during the mid-20th century.

This particular reference typically features a case crafted from stainless steel, housing a self-winding movement. The E163 is powered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 481, known for its reliability and the integration of the power reserve complication. The crystal protecting the dial is commonly acrylic, consistent with watches of its era, and the case diameter measures approximately 35mm, which was considered oversized at the time of its release.

For collectors, the E163 Powermatic holds appeal due to its historical significance as an early example of a power reserve complication in a production wristwatch and its distinctive case size. It is often sought after by those building a collection focused on Jaeger-LeCoultre's technical innovations and design evolution. The "Jumbo" designation further enhances its desirability among enthusiasts of vintage watches with a more contemporary wrist presence.
