On the Sax O Mat system, the balance wheel is fully stopped, thus, when restarted, the balance wheel takes some time to find its original rate again.
It is better to have a zero-reset system that does not require the balance wheel to stop.

It may make setting the watch slightly more convenient, but frankly it's not that hard to do with a normal hacking movement. It's importance is mostly that it is evidence of Lange always insisting on doing everything a little better than the competition. ...
